Re: Thank you, CCer, for declaring your firearm...
Multiple signs are in place, at chest level, and one of them is in bright red to declare weapons or dangerous items.
We haven't had anyone Mexican carry, but we've seen a few appendix carry, a few at the 3 o'clock, and a few in purses.
Purses are either mundane, or have some of the strangest things in them. One girl had a huge weapon in her purse... though not the pewpew or stabbystabby type. Well, maybe stabby, just not the traditional. XD

Butler is the same way, you can lock your gun and then enter the metal detector area, at least last time I was there...

Just my personal rule of thumb,I never leave my Firearm in the car ! Good the way the courthouse handes this,Monroe Co. Courthouse they pretty much expect same declaration and not just reaching for it !

I can say that the courthouse in York has a big red sign at chest level on the door that states something along the lines of “NO FIREARMS BEYOND THIS POINT AS PER 12434.XX STATUTE” and makes no mention of the state law requiring them to allow you to secure it prior to the security checkpoint. Pretty intimidating sign if you’re not 100% sure of the state law requiring them to allow you to store it inside.

I imagine that the procedure in Philly looks a little like this:

I just walk into our courthouse and loudly declare "I have a gun!" That normally gets me through the security checkpoint quickly.

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.
