What do I need to PROPERLY install a muzzle brake on my Ruger Gunsite Scout?
As the title suggests, what do I need?
I want to install a Surefire Procomp on it. The threading is the same. I know I'll need a crush washer to index the brake (which I believe it comes with).
What sort of clamping do I need to prevent damage to the barrel? What sort of torque should I expect to use?
I've heard the Ruger birdcage is really on there. I was thinking since it has no flats that I could just stick some covered dowels through the cage and wrench it off. But I don't want to remove it if I am not going to install the brake.
Am I overlooking anything?
I really appreciate any input.
