    Default Holster Advice?

Any suggestions for a CC holster for a Star model BM? Preferably IWB, but I'm big enough to go with a belt holster that rides snug. Usually carry at 4:30, but willing to improvise.

Now for the bad news. IMNSHO, selecting a holster is about as individualistic as picking the right pistol.

How did you come to carry a Star Model BM?

I used to carry a bks in a Blackhawk leather pancake holster made for a Commander. Fit was fine. Iwb I used a Dom Hume 715 designed for an officers model 1911. The barrel does stick out the bottom a little, but it worked. The commander size version of that holster should work a little better for the BM model in that holster as well. Any leather for a 1911 Commander might work, you'll just have to try it out. Kydex, you'll have a few more issues buying off the shelf. Check out one of the larger gun shows it you want something like that. There's usually at least 1 or 2 custom kydex makers at them, that can form something for you while you wait.

There's lots of them that have been imported lately. Prices have been really good on them. Solid choice if you're on a budget.

OP, just remember to check any"carry ammo" thouroghly. Some designs gave my bks issues. I settled on Hornady 124gr Critical Defense. Fed great and had decent tests/ballistics. Also avoid dry firing. They are known to break firing pins if dry fired to often and obtaining a replacement is almost impossible.

A 1911 commander in leather should be close fit.
