Re: Auto Ordnance/Kahr Thompson M1 SBR
Waiting on a trust Form 1 I filed in August so I can have my local guy swap a short barrel on my currently owned ribbed barrel rifle version.

Re: Auto Ordnance/Kahr Thompson M1 SBR
is the local guy familiar with thompsons? very easy to twist the receiver if the proper fixtures are not used, not the easiest to time correctly either.
however if he knows his stuff, i'd like contact info. have one myself, that had the barrel shortened with the cutts comp welded on which does make it look better but..
picked up a savage '28a1 parts kit several moons ago with a barrel and have been dicking around submitting paperwork on it, just due to the hassle of swapping barrels.Last edited by brian; November 5th, 2017 at 05:21 PM.

I spoke with him in person and he said he had owned a full auto Thompson previously and could handle a barrel swap.In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

Re: Auto Ordnance/Kahr Thompson M1 SBR
After I bought a West Hurley Thompson subgun I wanted a M1 Thompson but had no dough left for another MG.
So I bought a M1 Thompson and SBRd it. I even made my own receiver holding fixture and barrel clamp wrench to R&R the barrel. I would have bought a factory SBR but at the time they wanted $600 more for the shorty barrel model. I cut and crowned the original barrel and machined a bushing on the end for the front sight ring. I figured that nobody would have bought the new 16" take off barrel. I did a mod on the mag catch so it could use MG mags.
