The bacon cheesecake will be done baking in a few minutes. The Mrs. spent about 3 hours making this for us.

i feel like crap that i can't make it. got to repair the truck, been off the road for three weeks, dumping fluid.
however, if you made that cake for any other reason, you're close enough that if you left it on the windowsill to cool, it'd disappear.

(ps. we do have a functional vehicle, just losing chances to fix truck before snow.)

We cannot leave anything on the windowsills to cool. The wildlife or the meth addicts would get into it.

I understand the vehicle thing. I've been putting off some repairs on two vehicles until it warms up next week. Last October I paid $350 for what I'm driving to the shoot on Sunday.

well. i do almost qualify as wildlife, but far from a meth addict. more of a meth connoisseur(j/k)
once the snow/ice starts, we get stranded easily so the truck has to be up and running.

anyway the meet really is sounding like something not-to-be-missed. with people traveling so many hours to get there.
guess ungawa was just one of those type of people that left an impression on everyone.

The Marlin 1894 would be cool to try.
I will be bringing some 357 for my 686 anyway.
    Thanks Empty.

That was my second .22. I think I paid about $40 in 1973.

I wouldn't complain. I'm brining my Marlin 795. No where near as cool as your Marlins but I like shooting it. Actually your 989 looks like a 795 with a different stock.

Heh. Wouldn't happen to have the rear sight sitting in a can on a shelf would you?

I bought this one with a scope mounted (pictured is actually a Tasco - I later bought a Marlin scope) and it had no rear sight.
Seems a lot of people took off the rear sight (held on with a thumb knob) to mount a scope then lost the rear sight.
For that reason, rear sights sell for around $150 alone. I'll just live without it. LOL.

This one has been "altered" - someone checkered the grip. I was sort of bummed when I realized it wasn't original, but the checkering is really well done and makes it "one of a kind".

I think I have a ride, but I'm having communication problems since my cell phone just died (D'oh!!!) Hope to get that straightened out tomorrow.

I plan on bringing more GoPro's than guns and shooting lots of video of the event. If you don't want to be on video, bring a ski mask.

Is anyone particularly interested in the twins? (Garand and M1 Carbine) I can bring one or both if you're interested.
