    Default Choke question

On the end of the barrel I can see the choke on each side (sidexside). One has 4 little notches and the other has 3 little notches...is this normal? Ot are there actual notches somewhere else on the choke that could tell me what particular choke it is?

If you pull out the choke it may say. Hard to say without knowing the make, model and gauge. 4 is likely full choke and 3 is likely modifiied if I had to guess.

A dime will not pass through most full chokes or tighter on a 12 gauge.

If you have a good finely graduated ruler or a micrometer you can go by the inside diameter. Diameters vary a little depending on if its European, American or Asian production, by manufacturers, and types of boring.
