I received the same response from Casey today also. I was reading it on my phone but after just a few lines into it I felt compelled to go to my 'puter and fire off a response to him and his bullshit, worn out, over used statistics. I also told him I cannot wait to vote against him and his cohorts next year.

I find this entire section to be suspect. It sounds as if he wants to prohibit more people. It also sounds like he supports giving homeland security the power to prohibit without due process.

His use of the term "gun violence" also sets off my spidey sense.

Good catch! Continual follow ups are of course warranted, as always, so these are good points to poke at.

The article you linked does not say that the FBI were monitoring Lanza for two years prior to Sandy Hook. Rather, it says (after the shooting) that the FBI interviewed a woman who had befriended him online, two years before the shooting.

SHE (after the shooting) told the FBI that he had been obsessed with spree killers and school shooters particularly.

It does however mention that the FBI had interacted with Lanza once prior, when he was in ninth grade.

Casey is beatable. A blank do-nothing that had a hard time beating a unknown opponent from Pittsburgh the last time he had to defend his seat. The republican opponent was underfunded and had little charisma. Yet he was catching up to casey due to some very effective political ads which portrayed the do-nothing casey as just that. It was not until the last minute when casey got some funding from the DNC that the sponsoring organization did not think was needed. The DNC thought that their political hack was a shoe-in and they were wrong. Millions of firearm owners in this state could easily defeat this dreg if they bothered to do so.

I definitely agree with this analysis. Casey is beatable.
