I just posted a wtb ad. I feel like I just cheated on my bolt rifles.

Stripped seeds are only about $40 each these days.
The FFL transfer thing turns me off just a bit, as I don't know of a good shop to do the paperwork around here.

Now you guys have me looking into those evil 80% ghost-pepper seeds.

I had zero interest in AR-15s or AKMs until Obama was first-time elected. Four days later I grabbed a WASR and it took several months to overpay for hard-to-find parts and build an AR-15. Although I had no interest, the thought that I might be deprived of the opportunity to own them drove me with a passion.

To more specifically respond to OP, prolly out of phase and now poorly timed, I might have remained among those who do not have one were it not for the insanity of the American voter. Now, I have more than one, and the tools to assemble one from parts.

Never lose sight of an important component of gun ownership..that being...FUN! Fun can include the learning curve of new things.

Except it was him getting reelected for me.

I got my first AR a month before Sandy Hook happened. Good thing I got some ammo too because it went full retard after that.

A few months later I traded the mintest Swedish Mauser ever, for a Bulgarian SSR-85C with a great POOFA member.

I used to be all about forged steel and walnut, but I've since expanded my horizons.

    Only have 2.
1968 Colt, with the original Colt scope, bought in 68.
Didn't get another till last year, couldn't resist the price.

I doubt that you are alone. I did not own one for the longest time. Now that I do own one, I am rather fond of the platform. However, it is not a platform that works for everyone. The entire idea of Shooting Sports is to enjoy them. If you do not find a platform enjoyable, then you would not be well served in jumping into it, and spending a lot of money for a rifle that you do not enjoy.

I want one a lot, but it's just not financially feasible for me right now. Also, even on my best days, I don't have access to a range farther than 100 yards, so it seems like waste to me. I do love all three of my .22 rifles, and my Mark III.
    I just love shooting.

100 yards is too far to walk to hang targets.

Walk to targets?! Hell... I drive to the 25 yard backstop to hang targets.... Let alone the 300.
