Re: I don't own an AR. Am I alone?
Glad to know I'm not the only one. ARs just don't do it for me.

Re: I don't own an AR. Am I alone?
Someone asked me the other day how many I had and when I paused they asked me if I heard them. My only reply was shut up I’m trying to count

I still don't have one but may in the near future. If they stay at such low prices I may get one before 2018 is over. I may get the Smith and Wesson Ar style .22 instead.
Some people just plain suck.

Suggest you get the real deal first. Prices have never ever ever been better.
I don't know what the hell that Mandalay bay shooting was all about but we know for sure that the powers that be tried to use it to infringe on our rights even more.
They don't quit and they won't quit.
Go buy the AR now AND a bunch of ammo.
That's how I see it.American by BIRTH, Infidel by CHOICE

I don't have an AR. I have Arsenal, Vepr, Saiga, and FEG. I guess I like the AK pattern. For pistol caliber carbines, I have IMI Uzis.

Re: I don't own an AR. Am I alone?
Never owned one until recently.. wife said the magic words..."if there is a gun you want and don't have you might want to get it". Turns out there were a couple but a new Ruger AR 556 made it's way home with me.its a blast . Lot of fun at the range. Simple to learn and tinker with. Am currently working on my second build. Doing a 80% lower this time around. It cheaper really but want to see if I can do it. That will give me 3. For around 325 to 350 all in... why not. I'm having fun and learning a lot. (As opposed to 600 plus for the Ruger).

Re: I don't own an AR. Am I alone?
My wife doesn't have a problem whenever I buy a firearm. It's more or less up to my desire as to when I buy. She realizes that although it's not the greatest investment, It's not like I'm throwing money out the window like other hobbies. I rarely buy anything brand new, so I let the other fellow take that hit. When I buy, most of the time, I'm at least getting my money back if I were to sell. Recently I had someone approach me with an offer to buy my Garand collection. I sold it all. I made at least a 100% profit on the deal. Show me a hobby where you can do that.
I know this won't work for most families, but I've got a 1 in a million wife. After all, my mother told me she'd like me to marry a girl just like the one I did. My mother met my future wife at church one day. Long story short, I lost my job (20 years old) and couldn't buy my mom a mother's day gift, so I went to church for her gift. There I met my future wife and almost 37 years later, we are still in love.
