    Well, he came through his situation with his job and clearance intact. Because he was so cooperative through the investigation there were no charges and his badges will be re-issued.

    Would DHS have the same mercy on me, if I, a law abiding citizen with a good reputation in my community and employment, showed up someplace with some loose rounds?

    That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm glad for the OP's friend, but can't help but think others wouldn't have fared so well. That's one problem about stupid laws - they are not applied evenly.
