    Default AR Trigger

I am currently looking for a new trigger for my M&P 15. I have had the rifle for a number of years but I am finally looking to upgrade from the MilSpec. I have a SSA-E on my Fiance's gun but for this gun I am not feeling a 2 stage just a lighter single stage. I have an Echo on my SBR but I would rather stay with traditional semi-auto on this one.

What is everyone running on their AR in the single stage realm?

I put a Timney 3.5 lb. trigger on my Ruger AR 556 install was easy, it's all one unit. I've put about 2000 rounds through it since install and it made a big difference from that 8 lb. trigger that came with the rifle. Only down side is the cost of the Timney trigger.

    Lots to choose from:

    ALG QMS
    Geissele SD3
    Geissele SSP
    Geissele SD-3G
    AR Gold
    Timney....
    Etc...

FWIW, many people shoot VERY quickly with a 2-stage. Don't discount them all.

If you want to give it a shot to see what kind of results you can get, try a DYI trigger job on the stock trigger.

You can also search YouTube for "AR trigger job" for other idea's.

This guys video shows a shortcut to breaking in a trigger. I've used this method on a really bad factory AR trigger and it greatly improved the pull and break of the factory trigger.

+1. I'd personally recommend a LaRue for $125... they are very nice and crisp

I put a Geisselle 3 gun in mine. It's awesome. It's about 2.5-3 lbs. Just a smooth pull and the gun fires. Almost no felt trigger break. It was expensive. Not sure it's worth the cost but I like it.

I've also got 3 of these. Best trigger for the money, hands down. On par with the SSA-E at half the cost when on sale.

Geissele S3G or SD3G... hands down, but I'm pretty biased because that's what I have.

You can usually find them on sale for $180. aaaaannnnnd they are awesome. super short reset, no take up, light trigger.

Wilson combat TTU single stage. They are pricey but 100% worth it.

Two of my son's and I have a total of 4 Geissele S3G triggers in our SBRed ARs. After we installed our first one in my son Tom's SBRed Spikes we shot it at our range in Lancaster Pa. The Range Officer came over and asked us if we were shooting full auto. We told him what we had and let him shoot it. He went home and ordered one that day.
