I learned to drive with a stick in 1964 & that's what I usually drove. My kids both took their drivers tests with a stick. I got my first pickup with an automatic transmission in 1995 & I've had autos since.

I like my DA/SA Sigs & have carried them a lot, but really prefer 1911's. My TRP & Wilson CQB have gotten a lot more carry time than any of my other guns over the years. I have a few Glocks & the G19 occasionally gets some carry time, but the Legion 226 SAO that I got about 6 months ago seems to have taken over edc duties. It's nice to have choices.

I have two cars and they are both M/T's. I also compete with and carry a DA revolver (shot DAO) - yes, I'm a throwback. My phone would be a dial type if they still made them.

Learned to drive in a 69 beetle. Fun fun fun with sticks over the years including bump starts.
I'm old and lazy now, so the F250 and the dumptruck and the motorcycles are the only manual shifties.

I've got some 1911s, and i like the SA triggerz.
But my ruger SA DA pistol sits in the nightstand drawer because best combo of safety and quick shot and good follow up shot trigger action

I used to carry a single double. I also used to drive a stick. If a single double had a trigger that didn't completely suck, I would not be adverse to carrying it. The only problem I have ever run across with them is I can't find one with a trigger that I like. I have tried working triggers, I have tried everything. I am just stuck on 1911.

I mentioned earlier that I use a SW 3914 but another in the stable is a Browning BDM where I can use it as SA/DA or by simply rotating a slotted pin, it then becomes DAO. The trigger in DAO is such that I frequently keep it that way for carrying, (and before Cruzans wants one, they are as far as I can tell, in the "unobtainium box") Dave_n

I like variety...shoot anything and drive anything.
Guns, cars, motorcycles & women...it's all about that internal combustion.

I remember para ordnance was making some SA/DA 1911's and they were really nice.
I think they were call "Light double action".

I have a number of single actions along with Beretta 92. Only own one striker fired pistol. FYI: Daily driver is a 2014 Ford Fusion 6-speed manual.

My father's Jeep is a stick and I borrow it now and then just for the fun of driving stick. It doesn't take long to remember I can't drink my coffee and gab on the phone and steer and shift gears all at the same time and the fun factor begins to fade. Oh, and I'm mostly a Glock guy which I guess is technically DAO.

I carry a SW Shield, but prefer shooting my HK USP.

The work truck is an auto, as a manual isn't available.

Can you even get a full size truck with a 5 or 6 speed? Last diesel / 6 speed manual I had was back in 01.

I've driven all kinds of stuff. The most challanging was driving a friends 1960-ish GMC motorcoach through mountains in New England for a day. Shifting gears was like rowing a boat, with long linkages connecting the lever to the rear of the bus. When you timed a shift wrong you would hear the gears grinding 35 ft behind you.
