Re: DA/SA - the manual transmission of handguns?
My 1st stick shift was my first vehicle. Sadly, this one is not mine...

My Sig 229 is DA\SA and I love it.
However, I mostly carry the G19."One must be a fox to recognize traps, and a lion to frighten wolves” ~ Machiavelli

Learned to drive in a Jeep CJ-5 3 speed, no power anything, but I think it would climb a wall if it got traction.
Pistols and Revolvers all DA/SA.I just flew the Millennium Falcon through the hole in your logic 2A6X1

Re: DA/SA - the manual transmission of handguns?
DA/SA is God's greatest trigger. and stick shifts are the best transmissions ever.

Re: DA/SA - the manual transmission of handguns?
I drive a stick daily (and occasionally drive my OLD Miata stick as well - like a go-cart on steroids !) I love my 1911's and am OK with my Glocks, and appreciate the trigger on my SW revolvers, but for me the DA/SA autos just throw me off. It seems to me like the first shot is just a "throwaway" or means to cock the pistol.

Re: DA/SA - the manual transmission of handguns?
There would be a lot more vehicles with manuals if it were not for the gooberment regulations. CAFE and emissions being the main ones. Not a fan of DA/SA myself but do the like manual transmissions.

Re: DA/SA - the manual transmission of handguns?
My 2 most used pistols are my USP Tactical 9mm, and my Mark 23, both DA/SA with safety and decocker (though looking to convert the USP over to V3 decock only).
However, my main carry gun is an LEM trigger. I think I might shoot DA/SA better though.
