Lightbulb Bill introduced to ban magazine capacity greater than 10

Congress To BAN Large Capacity Magazines?? HR 4052, submitted by Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-CT) looks to BAN magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, nation wide. The Bill also looks to BAN the transfer and possession of these magazines, so no grandfather clause either. Violations of this Bill would be punishable by 10 years in prison. READ the Bill here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-c...

Ha. Been there done that and didn’t work but they don’t stop trying. It won’t pass but if it did I could probably buy myself an M16 with all the pmags I have.

OK, as long as the mag ban applies to 75 mm and larger, except for mags on battleships, cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers, air-platforms, military in harms way, private owners of shootable collectibles, and such....

How do you figure? Gonna sell them on the black market?

They aren't dumb enough to grandfather anything again.
They will certainly keep trying though and when enough of "our" people sit on their hands because "it will never happen" - it will.

It only "won't pass" if we make it clear to our Reps and Senators, each and every time, that introducing or supporting these anti-gun bills will result in lost votes and lost seats. Call them and let them know you don't approve.

Grandfathering is Constitutionally required in Federal laws. The Feds have no police power, and there's the "takings clause". Together, they mean that the Feds have to pay you if they take away the value of your property by law. That's why they grandfather stuff and only restrict future manufacture and sale.

There was a time when our elected representatives knew this stuff. A time when presidents didn't tell us how much they were disappointed by the limitations of the Constitution.

    100% agreed.
We can no longer expect elected officials to honor the rule of law, unless they are forced to do so by an alert and engaged VOTING population.

This is what I was getting at in the Vegas shootings conspiracy thread. Rather than false flags, wouldn’t it be easier to vote for such legislation and say that calls and emails were 3-1 or 4-1 in favor of gun control. Both sides would believe them
