I don't know what is out there today but most pesticides that could kill enough to make a big difference might be harmful to beneficial critters. Not to mention I don't know if the PGC has the power to do something like that.
    Some people just plain suck.

I don't know if the PGC even wants to do anything about the ticks, other than give you advice how to protect yourself when you're in the woods.
Like I said the ticks aren't going away and it's getting worst each year.

I have never given ticks a second thouht, skin them in the field and left this ticks in the woods. Put the squirrels in a plastic bag. We had a buck loaded with ticks, threw the hide away in a garbage bag.

I wonder what butcher shops do about ticks. They must get animals in that have them.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Other then having a tick jump hosts.

Did you ever have to dig a tick out of your skin? Have you ever seen somebody devastated by a tick bite? I have and it's not pretty. Hope you never have this happen to you.

Not sure but I would hope the butcher would take care of himself with some kind of repellent.

I believe butchers have to have a separate processing area for deer, or they cannot do both wild game and domestic animals without a total cleaning with bleach

Yes, just did a few days ago. I do it a few times a year. I don't lose sleep over it, and I certainly wouldn't toss good meat out over it, or expect the PGC or the gov to do something about it. To each his own I guess.

I'm not minimizing Lyme disease, or the people that suffer from it. I'm also not going to let it stop me from enjoying the only thing I truly enjoy in life......hunting.

I asked a butcher friend several years ago. He told me he would be breaking the law if he butchered a wild animal in his shop.
