No sportsman or woman needs 30 rounds to kill a deer.
30 round magazines are for killing agents of tyranny and criminals.

They smell blood in the water. I wonder what has made them so bold... it couldn't have anything to do with the NRA's statement and RINOs coming out in favor of gun control, could it?

No, it has everything to do with Congress not getting a f__king thing done in the past 11 years except passing Obamacare, and the Dems taking a drubbing in the 2016 election. The have to do SOMETHING so that electors will see some action and keep them in office. This LV shooter crisis is one that the Dems and Rinos can't let go to waste.
Its the political version of "Oh look! Something shiny!"

A laundry list of gun laws that in the end no one will agree upon. Some say too restrictive others say not restrictive enough. And the pro gun politicians will "poison" the water by adding national carry legislation to the anti laws, just as sure the antis have poisoned pro gun legislation over the years. The Las Vegas tragedy has become an incident where due to limiting information shared with the public on the event, people have less trust in the government than ever before. This distrust will make any legislation regarding draconian and unenforceable gun laws even less likely. 60 yes votes in the Senate for a large number of anti gun versions than one could imagine, along with getting a house version passed by both chambers.... Slow and difficult process. Whatever the case, it is obvious that any proposed legislation will go far beyond bump fire devices and there in lies the problems for the antis.

In general, I agree with you... and hope that that is the outcome... nothing.
However, the idea that there is "limited information shared with the public" on the LV shooting here and now as of only a week and half into the investigation (an investigation that demonstrates the difficulty of various people to even get their stories aligned), is premature. Quite frankly, I'm of the belief that the Feds or the LVMPD or the NHP or whomever is involved should focus on figuring out what happened instead of being overly concerned about what is or is not told to the general public. If this had been a homicide where one guy killed one guy in a hotel, there would be next to zero information released to the public at this point. Just because this is a much higher profile case doesn't mean that we are all entitled to some exclusive step-by-step information about the way the investigation is proceeding.
You say that limited information shared with the public leads to less trust in the government... I would suggest that a lack of trust in the government leads to a dissatisfaction with the level of information released. And that dissatisfaction would be there if they release no info or a little bit of info or a medium amount of info... and if ALL the info was released, then the people with distrust for the government would just suggest that it was fabricated and not real or a false flag or whatever. At the end of the day, there is no level of publicly available information that will be satisfactory to everyone... not a day later, not a week and half later, and not a year later.
