Default Too cheap to buy a Dillon powder drop micrometer? Try this

Was looking online at the crazy prices of micrometers for the Dillon powder drops and saw a YouTube video where a guy used masking tape and a 7/16 extended socket to make a pseudo micrometer. Well I tried it last night and it works quite well. Not conclusive as to the accuracy of my markings, but the majority of the settings hits between .1 to .07 grains per notch. Still testing different powders to see if there's any difference in adjustments.

That works but I found this and really like it. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2219650 I have access to a 3d printer so I made one for each of my powder measures. They could easily be marked like you did. If you don't have access to a 3d printer you can still download the .stl file and go to a site like https://www.shapeways.com/ and have them print it and send it to you. I printed them with PLA and something like 15-20% infill, FYI.

I just use a crescent wrench. I end up weighting the powder drops to confirm the settings I make anyways.

Yea I have a few 3d printed knobs, they did work well but I wanted to see a number value. But those knobs are still a great investment
