Active member to post in classifieds?
I'm sure this will catch some heat but...
Any chance of seeing a minimum number of posts or some other way to indicate an active member (somebody who does more than just browse the classifieds) as a requirement to use the classifieds?
I see a lot of ads from people with 0-5 posts. They might be legit, but I absolutely just close them. I've also received responses to ads I've posted from this same category of user. Again, I don't like or trust it. Typically, they are the same people who insist I ship something when my ads explicitly state I will not.
I know we want to be inclusive, but I feel like a lot of these people are just taking advantage of a free listing without giving anything back.
I hope my flame suit protects me.

We can't even get the ability to post 'I'll take it' in a classified thread. That said, I think you've already found the way to sort through trustworthy buyers and sellers.

Screw that. You're cutting out potential buyers and potential deals to be had by restricting them.
I've both bought and sold to these "users" of the forum - what do I care if they "participate"?I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I believe in a free market.
Anyone can sell or buy. If you decide to buy something from someone who is brand new and get scammed, that's your own fault.

I am for an open market,With that being said I find most often someone who posts a classified with very low posts tends to want more than they paid for their firearm/accessories. Thus making for ridiculously priced items and just wasting their time. This of course does not say that the most sought after collectable firearm does demand appropriate $$$ ! So now quick check out my recently added classifieds !

Zach --
On the surface that's a great idea; a way to "qualify" the sellers who are serious. Or more serious than others.
In practice, if a minimum post count is required for sellers to post an ad, what happens is they pack the rest of the subforums with inane posts such as:
"I agree."
"Well stated!"
"No kidding."
"I have one too!"
" I like pie."
"Revolving sub-caliber bee stinger."
. . . and the rest of us have to wade through all of that meaningless crap after a new member takes only 45 mins to make 50 posts.

Who doesn't like pie?
