    Default S&W 19-3 Gun Show Find/Oaks

Hello all, below is my newly acquired S&W Mod. 19-3 ca. 1970 with the original box, paperwork and tools(added the tools from another acquisition).

The 3T's (Target Hammer, Target Trigger and Target Stocks) are factory, the finish has honest wear for a 47 year old gun and I'm working on the grips(I stripped and stained them but due to the humidity today I'll have to lightly sand and put a couple more coats of lacquer)

    It's a .357 4" with a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder.

I found it at Oaks on Saturday. The dealer was Highland Arms Co., he's SctsGuards on the forum, and a good guy.

Nice gun. Especially for the age.

Bogey1, Thx.. It's a pinned 4" barrel with the recessed cylinder.

It's definitely a grail gun to me.

These are going for a premium these day's and that's a nice example. If you got it for la steel then you made a very good investment.

I picked one up about 10 years ago for 400 bucks from a small shop in Ephrata. Like yours, it's a 19-3 triple T. The gun has the best double action trigger I have ever felt. Everything about the purchase was a plus except for one small thing......I was originally going to buy a four inch blued colt Python with original grips and box for $950 but the model 19 felt just as good for less than half the price so I went with that. If I knew then what I know now I would have certainly bought them both. That damn Colt sat on the top shelf of his gun counter for months. I can't imagine what it's worth now but the moral of the story is a model 19 is an awesome revolver. I wish you the best of luck with yours.
