I did. But it was in Jersey and 40years ago. $250 fine. Got finger printed which came up on a recent job application​ but didn't effect my ltcf. Just ask the sherrif where you live. Just don't lie.

Possibly, you would have to know exactly what the maximum sentence was for the conviction. Some M1's can be prohibiting if the maximum sentence is over 2 years. It doesn't matter what your actual sentence was, but what the maximum could have been.

As far as ltcf, you are probably boned for life. Unless you get a pardon and expungement.

You should be okay for purchase then. I'm not a lawyer though, so I wouldn't take that as legal advice.

If you can say FOR CERTAIN, that the maximum sentence you could have received was/is under 2 years, then you should be able to buy a handgun. As for the LTCF, since it was drug related, the Sheriff can deny on the "character" clause if he so chooses. You could always set up an appointment with him to discuss it and maybe he will change his mind.

I said was/is in the above paragraph because the sentence NOW might be less than 2 years but when you were convicted, it may have been more than 2 years. You need to know what the max sentence could have been at the time you were convicted, NOT what it is now.

Think you said it all and with good advice in the last sentence. Assuming the denial was for character reasons the OP needs to provide irrefutable eveidence that he has been and is of good moral character since his infratinction.
