The Dam has broken!
My wife decided on her own this past Saturday to try out some of my long guns. We were up at the game lands in Cumberland county and I was prepping to shoot the last of my 30-06 ammo before I intended to post the rifle for sale. While reloading the magazine she came up to me and told me she wanted to shoot it. Mind you my wife is only 5'2" and can't take the weight of my 8lbs AR-15 for more than a few minutes. I was shocked but I said sure. I set her up and I told her to hold it as tight as she could to her shoulder. I put my hand behind her right shoulder and she took her shot. The recoil was more than she expected, the largest firearm she has ever shot was a .410 with birdshot. After awhile I busted out my AR-15 and our new Savage in 6.5 creedmoor and was able to get her to shoot those as well.
I am one lucky man to have a wife that is as understanding of my love (obsession) with guns.

Does she buy her own ammo?

Only when it comes to her carry gun. We own a few firearms with different calibers and she is still confused as to what ammo goes with what guns. She is getting there though.

Your wife just might declare they’re all hers now.

Re: The Dam has broken!
Lol that's a possibility but I doubt it. She normally just sticks with her 3 primaries, the 380 acp, her .22LR, and her .410.

That seems to be a trend with the ladies, both my daughters (26 & 10 yrs old) seem to think once they get to liking one of my guns they claim them, big sister thinks the Colt SP1 is hers and the minion has claimed the Browning Buckmark.
I tell them they will have to wait till the Will & Testament reading

The family that shoots together stays together. Reloading is a great family event instead of a stupid movie.

Re: The Dam has broken!
Wait....there are women who buy their own ammo???
My wife knows exactly which ammo is needed for her rifle and pistol (.30-30 and .380) but for some reason I always seem to be the one buying it...
Oh well, at least she is out there enjoying the range time with me.
