Ok folks as of September 1 st Braverman Arms has closed its doors after 65 years. It was is a tough thing for me and my father to accept but I must face reality I simply can not afford to keep it open. So I am announcing the first and only BRAVERMAN ARMS YARD BLOW OUT EVERYTHING MUST GO SALE. That's right on Oct 7th we will have a huge EVERYTHING MUST GO SALE. ITEMS to include gunsmith tools saws display cases and anything else we find between now and than so make a point to stop in between 12 noon and 3 pm and pick up some items you may not need but can't say no just cause it's so darn cheap you cannot refuse it! Please note I will not be answering questions on this you will simply have to come and check it out! All my friends please share let's make sure this gets around and we sell out. Thank you.

Sucks they wont be there anymore, they were the only functioning business in that block of Penn Ave. The owner was always a nice guy.

They've been closed for 25 days and this is the first mention of it?

That may be a glimpse into why they had to close.
Sucks to see a gun shop close. Well, except the ones run by people who berate their customers on social media. LOL!

I've been past there at least twice a week since 2010 and have lived in the general area for 20 years - close enough for it to be an easy drive there, but I don't think I had been in there more than five times total.

I don't really have anything good or bad to say about the shop.
Sorry to see them go though.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Yeah - completely unrelated to Bravermans.

Iron City Armory owner is verbally abusive and generally presents himself as a total douchebag.
    Sampling here.

Sorry if my comment came across as having anything to do with Bravermans.
The Iron City "issues" have been discussed here a bunch, so I just assumed everyone would get the reference.

I never made it to the shop, but always stopped at their booth at the Monroeville show when it was a real show. Too bad they couldn't hang in there. Big box stores and internet sales will eventually shut down all small retail shops.

Pittsburgh Tactical Firearms did that too.

Between the internet and the current climate for the gun market, it doesn't look good for the local gun shops.

Bought my first couple of handguns there back in the 70's and 80's. Buddy was the best and always a gentleman.

Things change. It's been a few years since I was in there, but the store seemed stale - the selection was pretty ordinary, and the store was kind of dark & dirty, not to mention the neighborhood. I like to pop into Verona Gun Safe once in a while if I'm passing by. I never had that urge with Braverman's.

I myself have never been to Bravermans, but as a patron and big fan of a small shop in Indiana, Pa, I've seen the squeeze endured due to internet sales and post election surplus.
