Well just got back from the range with my 15 rd, 2.0 , 4.25 M&P 9mm. Put 300 rds of everything from aluminum rds to Remington ,Federal, ball and hollow point to Hornady. Target and fast combat. Guess what ? Not one malfunction. Not one stove pipe. All went smooth

Glad to hear. I personally always get a little nervous taking a new purchase out for the first time. I buy most of my guns used so I'm always fearful I picked up someone's lemon. I don't worry so much on the rare occasion I get a new gun expecting some degree of break in. The fact that yours shot perfect out of the box means it's only going to get better. Enjoy it.

Don't you mean 17round 4.25 barrel or the new 4.0 one?

No, 15 round. Its on the Smith web site. Check it out. The barrel is 1/4 longer than the so called new 2.0 compact but is rebate eligible.

what made you decide to get this instead of the regular 17 round version or the smaller 15 round M2.0 compact?

For me, my Glock 19 Gen 4 and HK VP9 meet the 15 round capacity limit for states I may carry in (e.g. NJ - I'm covered by LEOSA). The full size m&p isn't much bigger than the new compact m&p, so I rather have the 2 extra rounds (when in free states like PA). Whether I got the full size or compact, I plan on carrying it in a safariland gls paddle holster like I do my Glock 19 and HK VP9.
