If the police are smart - they won't enforce it. Just like Philly doesn't enforce any of its local ordinances that violate the preemption clause of the UFA.

As we have seen from the courts, it is possible they get away with it depending on how they do it.

What court decision are you referring to, since every preemption case that has been determined on the merits (i.e. not dismissed for lack of standing because it wasn't pled properly) by the appellate courts has found that preemption applies. There was only one court case regarding firearms in a courthouse, which found preemption didn't apply, but the Commonwealth Court during oral argument in FOAC v Lower Merion acknowledged that such may have been in error.

What's most likely to happen is they will pass it and then not enforce it like the current "assault weapons". Then they will wait for preemption to be repealed.

Pretty sure "lost and stolen" is law in Pittsburgh.
As well as requiring ID to sell ammo. (that's why Bass Pro won't ship ammo to Pgh)

Like I said, if they have other laws that are contrary to state law, I can't see them shrugging their shoulders and giving up on passing another law that "isn't legal".
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

What they need is for someone in Pittsburgh to file a Private Criminal Complaint against all the council members that voted for such an ordinance, including the mayor for approving such. One copy to the District Magisterial Judge, and one copy to the news media. And if the district attorney declines to act, then one can really raise a stink.

Would have to be pretty significant to be noticeable, given the natural stench in the area.

Interesting times that we live in. PA constitution is against such laws on a local level yet self appointed King Turds decide to violate the law with no apologies or shame.

Someone needs to go to the next public council meeting and during the period of public comment read an ethical violation complaint into the public record (i.e. violation of laws and oath of office), afterward, go to the Pitt AG's office and file a private criminal complaint for violation of the UFA, and Conspiracy to violate the UFA, once done, send the complaint to the Mayor's office, City Council and the PRESS, making sure all Parties know who the recipients are.
