I have a matching early Sino-Soviet SKS with the tiny import mark on the underside of the barrel that is mostly obscured by the cleaning rod.
Many early import marks are intentionally small and “hidden”.
My Argentine 1927 Colt has the import mark under the grips and a few of my 1917’s and P14’s have them under the upper handguard, Marathon imported Finnish Mosins had tiny import marks on the rear of the receiver that were stamped so lightly that some Flitz could have removed them.

Thanks to those that gave relevant information and didn't post here just to whine, but I wasn't interested in a not to good condition rifle for a good condition price (It was a Norinco, made for civilian market gun, not some thousands of dollar bring back kek). I think I am gonna get a Sub 2000 or P-11 from Kel Tech down the road anyway. Thats something I have wanted for awhile even though I would like an SKS, I don't really want another project gun at this time.
