I always check Tanners first. I know they had them for under $200 at one point. There were a couple used ones here recently at good prices.

Sorry if my reply came of as douchy.
    Some people just plain suck.

That may have been during the black Friday sale. They seem to be $225 right now. Sorry about that. I typed before I checked.

For the Oaks Show thats a really good price. I picked up my LCP2 in January at Surplus City for $269+10 fee. At the next Oaks show in May the lowest price I saw for the LCP2 was $339 but the rest were in the $375 range and one tagged at just over $400.

Sellers are more willing to haggle in your favor in the waning hours on Sunday.

    Nice get.

You surely mean background check fee.

    You could've done better.

    Kidding

At the end of the 3rd day of the Oaks christmas show last year, I wandered into the black powder/antique firearms show just off of the "A" entrance lobby and walked out with an unopened 1200 round wooden crate of Norinco 7.62x39 for $260. I was able to get the vendor to come down $65 from the already reduced price of $325. He'd said he used to own a shop but that he'd gone out of business. The crate I got was the last of a pallet of crates he'd been holding on to since pre-ban days. It was heavy as hell. And it was literally 3:15 pm on Sunday.

I always like to go just to look around but I feel it was a successful day for me. Walking around with my young son and telling him about some of the stuff we see is always fun and he enjoys it too. After walking the first two halls all I wound up with was some jerky for him to snack on and a bore viewing gadget called I think, a bore view. It might be a little on the novelty side but I thought it was neat. You put the little device in the receiver in or against the chamber and look through a little window periscope style and can see right down the bore crystal clear with just ambient light. The seller was also really friendly and a pleasure to talk to. He even came out from behind the table to bring his M-14 (if I recall) down to my son's level so he could look through it.

I got to the third hall still not having seen much in the way of a deal when I came upon fellow member ScotsGuards' table. I've always browsed what he had before and have heard here plenty of times he's a good guy but never had the chance to talk to him. He had a P38 that caught my eye. I hadn't really been looking for one but I suppose it's always been on my list however usually out of reach price-wise. I left after chatting with him and handling it but came back near the end of the show and made a deal. I concur that he (and his wife) are great to talk to and deal with and will always make it a point to look at what he's got a little closer from now on.
