It sounds like you meet those two criteria if the drug offense is one eligible for expungement. A little googling on the matter will render the answers to that question.I second what the other guys have already told you.
You can get some offenses "sealed", but not expunged. Potential employers and future in-laws won't see your convictions, but the govt still counts them against you.

The raw info is available, and you and I understand most of it. But to most folks, it's like reading hieroglyphics on a pyramid wall.

A common example is the max penalty for a DUI. You have to have the details of your exact conviction, then read the statute in the Vehicle Code, then read the penalty portion, then go over to the Crimes Code if you don't happen to know the max penalty for each grade of offense.

And none of this is likely to happen while filling out a form at the gun shop.

My personal opinion is that we should change the law; instead of a lifetime bar for anyone convicted of a crime punishable by more than 2 years, we should change that to anyone who actually served more than 6 months in prison. We could probably sell that to the Lefties as a "tightening" of gun control. And people know whether they spent months in jail or not, where they don't know the potential statutory penalty some years ago. The way you know how fast your car has been driven, but you may not know how fast it COULD go.

We're demanding that people understand statutes without any training, and we're pretending that a question of law is a "factual" question that people can lie about, instead of it being a misunderstanding in most cases.

My understanding is that they are as you say and that they shall not be used to deny the issuance of any permit or license but if you ever end up before a judge it can and will be used in determining your sentence. What is the difference between expunged and sealed?

Yes, but it's difficult to travel everywhere one goes ON FOOT, and statute provides only a very small, and very specific set of instances where a non-licensee can combine firearms and vehicles.
