Re: Long distance rifle trade - need help resolving issue
My opinion is a used gun is sold "as is" and all parties involved understand the risks in such a transaction. If the pictures showed a worn finish, and a lot of use wear, then the buyer should expect that the barrel might also be worn as well.
If it weighs heavy on your conscience, You could kick a couple benjies back to him twards the purchase of a new barrel from DSA. Or he could shop around and get some other surplus barrel from other sources for less money. Im sure there are rebarreling FAL videos or instructions over at the FALFiles website.
But used gun buying comes with the understanding "it is what it is". I have bought used guns fully aware that there might be some things needed and planned accordingly.Last edited by bigandy1966; September 14th, 2017 at 11:05 AM.

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like we're going to reverse the deal and eat our own costs. I'm okay with that. As one of you said, this was a learning experience. I will never buy another used gun without knowing more about it and doing a better inspection.

Cheap way to inspect the bore: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've used it to look inside combustion chambers in small engines too.Rules are written in the stone,
