Sounds like you're not even trying.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

The "passenger" on a racing hack is called a "monkey" and I think you can see why.

Indian motorcycles, in the Distant Past had the throttle on the left, instead of the right, so the officer could use his weapon.

If you want to be with other people while traveling; get a car.
I hated when my ex-wife would want to go on a ride with all the others from the American Legion.
It always turned into a 400 mile bar hopping fest where I had to pay more attention to the idiots in the group than the idiots in cars around us.

My whole reason to have a bike is to get away from people and to do my own thing, to stop when and where I want, not to be tied to some group.

The old Harleys with the Linkert carbs had the push/pull operated throttle that had no snap back.
This was effectively a cruise control.
Throttle on the right and the spark control on the left grip.

    Exactly !
Plus riding in a group; you take away a motorcycle's biggest attraction and advantage. Which is maneuverability.

X2. However, sometimes it's nice to have someone to talk to or eat lunch with on long trips. If I do ride with other people, it's only 1 other person, not a gang of 50 bikes like I see up North on the weekends.
