I carry both CC and OC while riding depends on the weather and if my jacket which I always wear rides up onto my holster. I am thinking of using my shoulder rig for future riding though. I never considered myself a bad ass, still don't, I am a teddy bear with teeth. Getting hit in the face or stomped is not in my plans nor is hitting someone with my knuckles as it will hurt me more than them. While riding you get the strangest looks at red lights but that is mostly from out of staters. I don't carry to impress or scare anyone, I carry to protect myself and my family, but I don't wear shirts that attract attention either good or bad. I am to old to get into casual man touching (Fighting). I don't need to advertise anything about me other than I am an asshole, govt trained and natural abilities of the first order and unworthy of additional testosterone attention. I had enough fun destroying my body in the Army and I want to get a few more years out of it before the remaining warranties expire

Full disclosure, I do carry this wallet when I OC.
You need an epic beard and a baby blue shirt that says "I am the motherfucker".

I don't think anyone here ever rides solo. When you do, just about every cager is out to get you / cut you off / cut it close - what have you. In pairs or more, I rarely see the animosity. Even if you ride in cruising mode (no wheelies and other poor traffic behavior), some people enjoy tailgating etc. So being armed would not be a detriment in my opinion. It's as good as riding in a group.

You almost have to be "bad-ass" to ride around on your own!

I don't do the OC thing- except during hunting season, and then only when in the field.
That said, I just did an 800 mile round trip on the Super Chicken to Plymouth Mass.

I used a shoulder holster for my usual traveling companion, a full size 1911 (UNDER my jacket).
No body ever noticed, not even my new Hell's Angles friends from N.Y.

I always ride alone. I've never (knock on wood) had a strange encounter or interaction with other drivers or pedestrians.

I ride alone 90% of the time as well. I usually end up CCing as my jacket covers it.

I just bought a 2000 Honda Valkyrie this past weekend, when I ride if I'm carrying it's either my M&P 9 in a king tuk or in a safariland OWB with retention. I might even consider carrying my .380 Makarov IWB at some point. Thank you all for your responses, I was mostly curious if anyone had been given any scuff over carrying.

Well, it all seems normal to you, then, lol. You need to go out and ride some doubles or small group. I have noticed a difference in the amount of b.s. you see/experience. Of course, you can argue that it is subjective as I never kept fastidious notes on the subject...

What's the point in riding with other motorcyclists ?
If you want to be with other people while traveling; get a car.
