    Even with the shorter barrel life of the 6.5CM compared to .308 Winc. ... your odds of a on target hit are dramatically increased because of the improved ballistics... in particular the wind drift dept.

    We all kind of forget about that factor...

    I shoot the same type of matches, mid range F Class 600 yrds occasionally long range F class 1000 Yrds, and its more like 22 rounds in 10-15 min, and 3 rounds of that so 70 shoots with warm ups, one guy this weekend did 22 in 6 min. Most of these guys are changing out barrels with high pressures a lot sooner then 2K rounds, but for the average shooter 2K on a bolt guns probably a life time. Like anything in life it comes down to what your gonna use it for.

    I went with a 308 for my remage build, its a simple easy to source round with tons and tons of load development info along with ballistics out there. I wouldn't say its better than the new darling 6.5s but it works for me and was a learning platform so I did not need the latest and greatest.
