In addition to questioning if this was a justified draw.
About about questioning if the motorcyclist would have been justified for using deadly force against an unidentified person pointing a gun at him ?

This definitely could've went bad quickly...the way he just snuck up on him with his gun drawn already (and held against his stomach like he's trying to hide it) plus plain clothes...my first thought if it were me would've been this dude is trying to rob me...WTF. Obviously after he turns around you can see the car has some low profile lights on, but never heard a siren or any other sign that a traffic stop was occurring like announcing himself as he approached.

To be brief. IMNSHO the LEO instead of drawing a gun should have approached with his badge and police ID drawn. Yes this LEO was WAY over the line.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen but even here in Philly I have yet to observe police officers approach drivers with weapons drawn and this guy displayed no type of I.D. or badge....but he did have his flashing windshield lights that can easily be bought at Pep Boys and installed right outside in the parking lot after purchasing.

    He probably wasn't properly trained.

When you dont identify and draw on anyone that LEO could have become a statistic. If the LEO ( I use the term loosley in this scenario ) Controled himself just getting the plate number off the bike and being able to positiveley identify the rider he could have filed a complaint and citation from his job later on.There appears the rider was committing no felony at that time . And LEO wanted to show his Authority ! Hope his commander decides he is no longer stable enough to protect and serve !
