Assuming you mean a true rifle and not an AR pistol, AOW, or other firearm that may fall into a different classification the minimum length for a rifle barrel is 16 inches.

This is federal law, it is not a PA law.

Is there a specific rifle in mind that brought this question up?

Federal law says 16". PA doesn't recognize sbr's as a hunting rifle. I hope this answer the question.

    MT1,
I've tried to reply 3 times but none seem to have taken.
    I'll try again.

    Yes, MT1, there is.
I have a High-Point 4595TS (.45 cal. Carbine) that I'll be converting to a Bullpup in the future.
The 4595 has a barrel length of 16-1/2" but it now seems foolish to cut the barrel to remove only 1/2".

Do you have any idea what the minimum barrel length of an SBR is ??

    Thanks for the response(s) all.

Pa. has caliber restrictions, Magazine restrictions, action restrictions and Laser restrictions. There is no barrel length restrictions for rifles.
We the people love our country so let the government fear us.

Minimum barrel length for an SBR is just enough so that only the bullet sticks out at the muzzle.
