The Moon and it effect on hunting deer

Twenty two percent of readers believe that moon phase has a significant effect and the remaining 12% of readers believe the moon phase has absolutely no effect on deer.

One of my favorite times of year to archery hunt was during the full moon. No real particular reason why other than it seemed that the woods would be more alive during this time and let's face it, it's a wonderful time of year to be outside doing anything. I guess I never have given the subject much thought unlike how this write up breaks it all down.

I pay little attention to the moon phase other than to enjoy a free night light walking in or out. That crisp air today has my blood reeling.....its almost here.

A chance to hunt is a chance to hunt no matter what.

I'm not too sure about the moon, but I've had a veteran deer hunter tell me he hunts by his barometer far more than his thermometer. A change in pressure is a change in weather and the deer will be moving to get ready for it.

^I believe there is truth in that.
I seems like I've had more success during an increasing moon, no hard data to back that up, just seems that way.

I have often observed deer up on their feet feeding earlier ahead of a front.

true. They'll bed down for nasty weather that's going to be a few days long,
but fill up their bellies before and after.
