I'd argue that you want to prevent it from becoming that.

Even so - I'm not going to get into a fight over a spiral notebook at Walmart.

Forget the notebook, if two grown adults are attacking my daughter (yes, in this case the 20 yr old is also an adult) I will take action. Will I draw? Maybe not but hair puller will likely feel the impact of whatever is in arms reach. It's called escalation of force. You hit or pull hair... I come at your face with something pointy or hard to inflict blunt force.

Now... if the daughter had positive possession of the notebook and the attacker is trying to take it from her I think that would be robbery.

Overall I have to agree with Free. None of this is worth it over a .39 cent notebook at Walmart. However, if it's one of the $1.99 five-subject tablets with the cool tabbed dividers - it's game on!

It carries over into driving too.

Just yesterday, going into the Ft. Pitt tunnel, I observed the following:

1). Car A in the main lane, proceeding forward
2). Car B in the side line, trying to get into main lane before his lane ends.
3). Car A not yielding to car B
4). Car B doing his damnedist to force his way in ahead of car A.

They really went at it - for a WHILE. I really thought they would make contact with each other - it was that close. Eventually, car B guns it, and gets in the main lane, 2 or 3 cars ahead of car A.

All that bullshit in bumper to bumper traffic, when no one was going anywhere anyway.

Same kind of people pull guns at Walmart over notebooks.

So who's in the wrong in your opinion?

My view on these... take turns alternating, it keeps all traffic flowing. BUT... all too often I think the general population forgets what 'YIELD' means. When your on-ramp is ending, when your lane is ending, etc... it does not mean the main traffic is required to move for you. Many times in busy traffic I don't have an opportunity to check the next lane and move but the jackass coming down the ramp thinks he/she is special.

You grab your child and get her away from the BT 1000's as fast as you can. If they follow you and threaten you or try to cause bodily harm after you exit the melee then you may be justified in pulling a weapon. People need to have perspective. Getting into a fight over a school notebook isn't worth losing you freedom or taking someone's life over.

They both are. Driver of Car B is wrong for being an asshole and trying to force his way in, instead of being patient. Driver of car A is wrong for risking an accident or worse, simply because he can't swallow his pride enough to let the guy in, which costs him NOTHING.

And I will agree that virtually NOBODY in this town knows what to do at a merge lane.

I don't think it was justified. On a separate note, no round in the chamber = not loaded, IMO. That's what the safety is for.

If you haven't been in a fight with a black woman, you haver never been in a fight. Only way I can equate it is trying to shower with six cats.
