Default NRA getting onboard with Gun Control and smart gun technology?

    http://www.blocksafefoundation.com/

Smart technology that has digital identity attached to firearm and will record audio, visual, and discharge. All under the guise of being 2A friendly. Trojan horse

Not really seeing how the NRA is supporting that. Just because they paid for an exhibit booth an an NRA show, doesn't mean that the NRA is supporting them. I'm sure I could probably pay to get a booth selling pickles and beef jerky, doesn't mean the NRA likes pickles and beef jerky.

I am fine with the free market offering smart tech....... even features I would never want. I am completely against any government mandated use of smart tech.

If there is a market for this tech and a segment of gun owners want it so be it. More power to the free market for giving people what they want. If they don't want it then based on the free market it will go away.

Any government mandates need to be fought tooth and nail and never accepted.

I hope the NRA would see through possible misguided intentions. Just something the community needs to be aware of as this company is trying to get the gun manufacturers onboard as well.

From the little information that's on their site, it sounds as though they're trying to some how combine the Bitcoin blockchain idea into a firearm. But I can't even figure out why that would be important.

There are some cynical people at the NRA and they know their base. I think they see where this could possibly go when the government of certain states try to mandate it and will fight the government mandating smart guns.

This company is a partner with Blocksafe I believe- http://www.justifire.com/

This is a link to Reddit that talks about how justifire works, similar to a blackbox for the firearm. Creating a digital ID that works between the individual and firearm. I can see New York and California drooling over this, and then utilizing the information in court.- https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurre...triggers_trig/

I know nothing about the technology in question, however the blockchain is very good at keeping a record of all transactions, ever. If you wanted to track firearm ownership, I could see how it would be useful technology to do that.
