Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
After 7 years of not working in the trade, I was getting soft, weak, older and tired. I topped at 212 lbs after the holidays and now down to 182. I feel better and my BP dropped into the normal range.
I sawcut my driveway at cracks and sikaflexed it, painted my foundation ( not done yet) and started this sidewalk.
I turned down an offer of an electric mixer yo get the exercise.
They are only 60 per day at home depotOpinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
Lets see.............No wife or live in, Work, 2 dogs at home, an elderly mother in her house, an aunt with Alzheimers under care in her house, yards to mow, a camp to keep up, a hand surgery earlier this summer. Right now, I don't have time to shit or wind my watch!

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
I haven't been shooting in about 6 hours. It's really bothering me. I won't be able to shoot again until Tuesday. I always have time to do things I want because I'm irresponsible. I work hard but blow off things around the house. I'm completely obsessed with shooting. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand this spring. I just shot left handed until it healed. I shot a pistol match within 30 days of surgery. It's all about priorities. Mine are a little warped.

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
Mine is the same as the OP, recent surgery, Carpal tunnel and Cubital tunnel (elbow) been a bit over 6 months and now my friggin Thumb on the hand operated on is locking up on me ...back to the orthopedic surgeon, yuk. what really sucks is trying to reload with only my left hand manipulating the press, nearly impossible
On the flip side, my 10 year old daughter is getting very good with her new S&W M&P 15-22 and my Browning Buckmark. we go to the range regularly and since I haven't been shooting ,I bird dog her on safety, manual of arms and shooting posture and discipline. She is taking it in very good , I've cured her of the " typical girl" posture of leaning back and not getting her nose up to the charging handle for proper eye relief at the rear peep. and older gent at the range was so impressed with her shooting manners last time , he gave her a brick of 22's
So by the time I'm back shooting she may be better than me, with my eye sight waning, Irons are getting tougher, and with the hand/elbow/ shoulder issues, I may never shoot my slug gun again. Im also worried about the Magnum handguns and the ability to cock single actions with the crapped up right thumb. too many years in the hard trades I guess

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
Most days I've had off this summer I had to stay home with my rug rat. He had camp about 3 days per week but other days either me or my wife had to hang out and be with him at home. So, alas, I just let my range permit expire at the end of June. Now that he's back I school I'm going to renew and start shooting up some lead very soon! I want to get some work done on my AK so I guess I'll put the Ishapore through its paces while the AK is away. Also going to give my 45ACP Bersa one last chance not to bite me. If it does I'll be putting it up for sale. Also have a new Makarov I want to bond with.

I don't shoot unless bacon is being cooked and served right there on the range.
To do it otherwise is just un-American.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
Life certainly does get in the way of things. The one thing I never did I was to purchase of a new gun and not get to the range within a day or so. I know I have a friend who bought a Kimber 1911 and a Glock 43 in early spring and says he hasn't had a chance to get to the range yet. That would be a problem for me if I truly couldn't get to the range. In my situation I'd wobble out of my car to shoot rounds at the backstops just to make sure they cycled.
Anyone have new purchases that they couldn't try yet? Thanks again, BLast edited by bripro; September 1st, 2017 at 12:58 AM.

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
Due to various reasons I never really went shooting very often in the first place but I actually did get to hang out at a shop/ range and shoot with some buddies this past weekend.
