Please recommend an ffl in side oh philadelphia
Hello Everyone,
First post here. Long time member of Northeast Shooters (ptrainerchris).
I moved from Mass to Philly for grad school 2 years ago. I have a modest collection of pistols, shotguns, and rifles in storage with an FFL in MA. I am finally in a good place to begin taking possession again. I relied on advice from members of my previous group and I need some now.
What shop inside of Philadelphia would be advantageous to handle my out of state transfers?
It doesn't have to be the cheapest, when it comes to my firearms I would like things done well.
I have looked through old threads about this on here but they seem to be very dated and things in this climate can change rapidly. I know this can also start arguments on who is best. I do not know the surrounding area outside of philly very well, I am sure there are wonderful places/people outside the city but close proximity my only requirement at this time.
Best,
Christen

Are you looking to transfer them to someone else, or just bring them here for yourself?

I have dealt with Frontier Outfitters for my online gun purchases.

I'm confused- If they are your guns why do you need an FFL?

He may be having them shipped. To drive them here he would have to go through New York.

It is a situation where I own a handful stored at an FFL and would like to have them shipped. I also signed about 4 or five over to a close friend to care for because I knew I would not be using them for a number of years so technically he would have to transfer them back to me.

FFLs inside of Philly tend to charge an arm and a leg for transfers. It is not unheard of for a Philly FFL to charge $50-75 for a simple transfer.
I would recommend using an FFL in a neighboring county. Frontier Outfitters is just inside or outside of the city limits and I've heard good things about them.
I'd try The Bunker Gun Shop in Warminster, Bucks County. Address is 549 York Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Phone # 215-675-3796. Chris and Ryan are very reasonable guys and easy to work with. I believe they charge $20-25 for a transfer, but may be able to work out a bundle deal for you.Last edited by PHLJJS; August 30th, 2017 at 04:39 PM.
