FFL VS private to private sales
I noticed when reading the rules for these forums that it appears that private to private transfer of pistols in Penn is illegal. Is this true? If so is it also true for rifles? Shotguns? BB guns? pen knifes?
Just trying to keep up with the local laws. Been in Texas for a while and there Private to Private is allowed.

Re: FFL VS private to private sales
Person to person transfers of handguns must go through a licensed FFL (except where going from spouse to spouse, father to son etc). The buyer must complete a 4473 and receive an approval from PICS.
Long guns (rifles, shotguns) can be sold private sale though age requirements still apply, gotta be at least 18.

Re: FFL VS private to private sales
Private transfer of long guns is fine between Pa. residents.
Handguns are fine between child-parent-grandparent line. Also spouse to spouse.
All other handgun transfers must be executed by an FFL or Sheriff.

They aren't illegal, just not as easy to complete as they are in Texas.
