I saw the review by Hickok45 on the Gen5 G19 and he was swapping parts around with the Gen4 G19. He said the G5 barrel fit in the G4, don't know how well it ran. The G17 has more changes than the G19 apparently.

My LGS who sells tons of Glocks says the gen 5 are not doing well at all and the majority of his buyers of Glocks are 75 % for gen 3s and 20% gen 4s and under 5% for the gen 5s,I myself was not impressed with gen 5s. JMO/MDT

I'm looking more forward to the M&P 2.0 (full size) 9 when I get it. I had a M&P 9 full size from 2012 and didn't like it much, even after I dropped in the Apex competition trigger kit. I don't know if it was me or the gun, but my accuracy wasn't totally great either. It looks like S&W addressed everything I hated.

    Beretta APX FTW
its a much better option than the Gen5 Glock 17. IMO
It's cheaper, same reliability, looks better, great company, and Beretta has a deal if you buy one now you can get 3 free mags and a holster.
I paid 529$ for mine with 6 mags and a holster. That deal is Like a sore peter, cant beat it.

It's ugly as sin and it's still a beretta. That means you better love it because there isn't much aftermarket support.

Looks are a matter of opinion, I think in the looks department it destroyed the Glock and the M&P which looks like a 59yo Meth whore.
