Question Mailing a Firearm in DelCo

I'm sending a 1911 to be refinished. I know my options boil down to:
    • Have a local FFL mail it for me
    • Next-day air with UPS/FedEx

For those of you who have done this in the DelCo area, where - exactly - did you go?

I have the receiver's FFL in hand, and both postal and physical addresses, I'm just having trouble in my search for the specific location(s) to go to drop it off.

    TIA

I had a few things shipped when I lived in Delco. I just dropped them off at Gordon's Sporting Goods and he shipped them for me and charged me accordingly. Gordon's is long gone but there are quite a few places in Delco that will ship them for you rather than getting it wrong and have some douche Federal agent show up at your door wanting to arrest you for not dotting your i's or crossing a t.

That is a main hub so it can be shipped from there.

If your mailing a firearm with no serial numbers go see Hector down on Fairhill Street he has padded envelopes especially for that. Tell him repo sent you you'll get a good deal.

Kinkos and FedEx are all in one now. I ship thru them all the time. If they don't ask, I don't even tell them it's a firearm. Usually they don't ask. Sometimes I call the FFL on the other end and get a name I can address it to rather than gun shop name. That way only the delivery driver for that route knows what's up. Never a problem so far.

I don't know if notifying them of the contents is federal law or shipper regulations, but - either way - that seems like it could lead to... issues...

I think: as long as its going to a FFL they need not to know.
If insured, they want to see it to verify. Thats what they did to me.
I had to unbox a 500 sw mag in front of a bunch of people. A big heavyset
black lady was standing there and she says real loud, MY LAWD THATS A BIG GUN..
Aint nobody messin with you (or something like it) It was funny and she was cool about it.
