Default Best info. on AR15s and AK47s, IMHO.

There are 2 excellent threads on high round count AR15/M4 and AK47 rifles from one of the higher-ups at Battlefield Las Vegas on ar15.com.

One of the threads is "High round count AR15/M4", in the AR15 Discussion area, and the other is "AK Abuse" in the AK47 Discussion area.

Ron, the guy that keeps tabs on all the breakages for arfcom is very straightforward about what breaks, what the approx. round counts are when they break, which brands hold up and what doesn't. One of the surprises for me was that when it comes to AK47s, he recommends either saving your money and buying a WASR10 or going spendy and getting an Arsenal with a milled receiver. Both of these threads are loaded with great info. on all kinds of parts, breakages, platforms and brands. Just thouht I'd share these sith those interested in hearing from someone who is in charge of overseeing F/A, S/A and all kinds of rifles, pistols, tanks, etc.

I am not the interwebz guru that some of you are, so I don't know how to find the url or link or whatever it's called. If you can include them it would be great.

Lots of good information to be had in those threads. It's especially nice to see how well the WASR stacks up in comparison. Even when a WASR eventually fails, it's not a big deal to get it back into action again. They just keep chugging along.

I'll never reach a point of worn out with my WASR. I like it very much and it does what I want...fun to shoot with no hiccups...including drum-fed.

Worn put is a relative term. You can shoot out the rifling/throat/crown and the rifle will still function but lose accuracy most machine gun rental places aren't worried about accuracy though
