Ridley is known for being...over-zealous sometimes. Especially with their red cruisers - although, I like the bright, fire-engine red police cars better than the uber-concealed "undercover" units other jurisdictions have. The police should be as visible as possible, all the time.

the red color is to help hide the blood.
Back in the day, the Ridley cops were well known for their zealousness for upholding the law.
My brother in law and other aquaintinces had first hand experience.
but there were certain groups associated with the area that were less than fine upstanding,
so to help keep the mayhem down, the brutality went up.
This was just after the Macdade Mall hootenanny between two of the groups who shall remain unnamed
