love my 0000 steel wool
Picked up one of my grail guns - a Llama I. I knew it had some rust, which I hoped was surface only, and to my delight, it was First two pics are when I got it, next two are after a little tlc with 0000 steel wool - one of my favorite "tools" besides oxpho blue ( but this one will not see oxpho, don't want it to lose the worn look ). Geco marked is too cool as well - me like. And the holster just makes it !

Looks good, I picked up a couple of antique Marlin lever actions that need a bit of that TLC. I hope they turn out as well as yours did.

I'm not wiggin' out, just cringing. Lol ... looks good. For safely removing rust take a look at Big 45 Frontier Metal Cleaner. It works and if you like 0000 wool then you'll probably like Big 45.

Re: love my 0000 steel wool
Thanks - I've had a couple folks tell me never use 0000 because it will scratch/leave marks - but I've never had that happen. At least any I've been able to notice ! On guns I don't care about as much, I use the 0000 soaked in my oxpho blue - does an amazing job. For guns like this where I want them to remain as close to un-touched as possible, then just lightly 0000 it.
