    Default Testing COATED bullets

A friend recommended Bayou Bullets as a possible source so I obtained some samples. Here are the results of today's chrono runs.

I wish I could fully account for the higher velocities out of the 627. Perhaps a more polished barrel or a tighter cylinder gap? The .38 Special load meets the IDPA PF of 105K though I would like to get up to 125K. The 185 gr. is good for the .45 ACP PF 165K. I'll have to get the 200 gr. bullets sized to a .454" dia.

There's a MISTAKE in the powder charge for the .38 Special 160 gr. Bullet the charge weight should read 5.4 grains![/

I've had good luck with Missouri and Blue bullets.

I just looked at your website. Have you thought about Internet sales? If prices were good I would order from you. I only buy in bulk and look for free shipping. By bulk I mean around 10k rounds.

I appreciate the offer, I know I looked at your offerings in the past. Perhaps you'd be good enough to provide me with a cite to your site. How able are you to offer "custom" sized bullets? For example a 200 gr Truncated cone or Round Nose in 0.454" dia. or maybe a 147 gr. 9mm Truncated cone or round nose sized UP to .358"?
Glad I took a second look at your sig line!

Earlier today I spent some time comparing products and prices between Missouri and Bayou. They're the same or very close with Missouri only a few bucks more. The biggest difference is Bayou offers some custom sizing. They both use the same coating material.

I've thought about internet sales but don't have the dedicated time right now to build a website around it. I have a full time job running an auto shop and part time bullet caster. I work about 85 hours a week. As for prices send me a pm and i can email you a price list. But for the quick answer I am priced with in a buck or two of of Bayou and others. If you want 10k I'd ship for free. Not a big deal. Feel free to get some samples and see if you like them. I dont want to guilt you into buying them.

I have a 200 grain SWC in 45. It is the H&G 68 mold design. I will have to check the raw casting size to see if I can make a 454. If so all I need is a 454 sizing die. The die is about $65 to have made. I would ask that you buy a few boxes to help cover the cost of the die. I already have a 452 and 453.

As for the 9mm we just bought a 147 round nose bullet mold. We just finished up our load development for it. It will be on the website soon. I have that sized in 356 and 358 for 9mm and 38 respectively. Feel free to pm me or use the contact us link on the website for more personal information exchange and I would be more than happy to get some samples your way.

I will make some 45's this week and check the size. I will get back to you if I can make it in 454.
