Testing COATED bullets
A friend recommended Bayou Bullets as a possible source so I obtained some samples. Here are the results of today's chrono runs.
I wish I could fully account for the higher velocities out of the 627. Perhaps a more polished barrel or a tighter cylinder gap? The .38 Special load meets the IDPA PF of 105K though I would like to get up to 125K. The 185 gr. is good for the .45 ACP PF 165K. I'll have to get the 200 gr. bullets sized to a .454" dia.
There's a MISTAKE in the powder charge for the .38 Special 160 gr. Bullet the charge weight should read 5.4 grains![/Last edited by Brick; August 22nd, 2017 at 06:50 PM.
