The Sig P320 debacle and current value?
Due to the current debacle involving the drop test failure of the Sig P320, what would you value the P320 at? I have a friend who wants to sell his, not because of the drop test failure but due to needing money. He approached me about buying it. I said not until Sig addresses the issue with a recall and repair. I don't want to pick up a gun just to have it sit. His pistol has about 100 rounds down the pipe.
If and when Sig makes a repair that works I might be interested. As it sits now, unless I get it super cheap I don't want to even touch the thing.
What would you pay for one in the current state being unrepaired? What would you pay for one that as been repaired, if and when Sig figures out the issue? Do you think the P320 will now have a stigma causing it to hold a lower value?Last edited by Daycrawler; August 13th, 2017 at 05:39 PM.

It is the Sig P320 that has raised questions with regard to the drop test. Sig also sells a P230, different gun entirely and has no question regarding the drop test.

Considering that sig already has a fix to the issue.
Same price its always been.
NON standard drop test that I'm sure any other striker fired pistol would eventually fail.
There will be a few that will sell cheap due to the scare.
Others like myself, will hold onto the 320, get the "fix"and will be happy

Re: The Sig P230 debacle and current value?
That one is .380, and this thread made me pull it out again. It's snappy, so I ordered a set of Wolff springs in various weights to try and calm it down a bit.
It's thin, accurate, relatively small and easy to conceal. It's heavier than most of your polymer based compacts, but built like a tank. No safety to get in the way, and a fairly straight DA pull for the first shot and SA thereafter.
I've since moved to compact 9mms, but if I can tune the recoil spring a bit, this is always a viable option. Years ago I sent it off to Robar, so it's NP3 coated throughout..."A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves." ― Edward R. Murrow

From guys on other forums that sent theirs in, just be aware you will be on the hook for the shipping. SIG is saying this "upgrade" is voluntary so they are not covering shipping. If he tries to sell the gun to a gun shop they will hit him really low. Could take months to sell privatly.
