Re: GREASE OR GUN OIL ?
If it slides, use grease. If it rotates, use oil.
Just my opinion.... I'm not a lawyer.

Re: GREASE OR GUN OIL ?
And most put way too much grease on a gun. Use a Q-Tip to apply the grease. If the part is shiny and you can see the color of the part through the film of grease – good. If you can see the color of the grease, you put too much on.

I guess it can be said there are no dumb questions. Of course use grease on the rails. I use TW25B Make sure to get some under your fingernails too.

Re: GREASE OR GUN OIL ?
Either one will work . Your lubricating a tool or machine just like any other with metal on metal contact . I use grease on sliding metal parts . I Use plain ole wolfs head bearing grease, As others have said a little dab will do ya .

Re: GREASE OR GUN OIL ?
I use a very light coat of grease on rails, whether it be Glocks or 1911s. I rub a small dab on a pipe cleaner, then run it back & forth in the rails. You can get a huge pack of pipe cleaners in the craft section of Walmart for about a dollar.

Re: GREASE OR GUN OIL ?
I typically don't lube my guns at all that often. I've been shooting the same Gen II G17 since 1986. I think I've cleaned and lubed it maybe 5 times (with oil) in 30 years.
I'm pretty sure I won't wear it out in my lifetime.Toujours prêt
