Too late. Luckily it wasn't a Sig.

I've dropped my loaded Glock twice. It was exciting. You're missing out

It’s remarkable that any official drop test for a handgun doesn’t include a test where it is dropped so that it strikes the ground straight down with the back top portion (where the hammer would be located). If this is the way they test all handguns I wonder how many other models and brands do the same thing if dropped in a similar manner.

Anti gun states such as MA,CA, NY have drop tests before a handgun can be sold to the public in those states. Thanks to guns like this, the anti gun politicians who want to expand these tests into other states and onto a federal level just got more ammunition. Thanks SIG.

They will probably change some things and update the pistol to fix the issues. Probably a recall on existing pistols too boot. So don't completely write it off the list, just wait to see how things pan out.

What I really hope comes out of all this is the required testing is actually completed for the military pistol contract. Don't care if they have to start all over again, they should not be cutting off testing just because of price. If at the end of the testing the SIG comes out on top then so be it.

Frankly the SAAMI drop test is very limited and rather useless IMO. It is unlikely the pistol is going to hit muzzle first even close to half the time when dropped. With a loaded mag the weight is towards the rear of the pistol and is most vulnerable to discharge when hit there to boot. I just can't believe in this day and age these pistols are not tested more before being put out on the market.

Here is one of many lawsuits I am sure.

Seems like a no brainer to me. I've never dropped a loaded gun.

Not saying it can't happen, but the likelihood of dropping + a discharge as a result is so low, that it's not worth worrying about, IMO.
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.
