    Default Buying my first house

I'm in the process of buying my first home, which so far is the biggest pain in the ass that I have ever dealt with. Originally my parents were going to gift me enough for my closing costs. Which I am forever grateful for and forever in their debt. Then my father and I were talking and I said about him just buying my collection, which would give me more than enough for closing, and I would just buy them back down the road. My lender wants proof of registration of said firearms and proof of transfer, among other things which are simple and no issue. I've tried to explain to her that there is no formal registration of firearms and that child to parent transfers do not require a ffl. I'm waiting on the email back to see what she says, but i'm thinking that maybe it would just be easier to continue forward with the gift option.

From what I understand, the monies have to be in YOUR account for 30days. I dont think it really matters where you got it.
As far as I know, Ive been saving money my entire life and storing it under my mattress.

They have record of my bank statements, so if a large amount of money just shows up, it's apparently a red flag.

Why the fuck not? Even if I called them assets, they're going to proof of this, that and the third. Therefore revealing what I sold to come up with the funds.

No transfer needed to parent to child. Show lender regulation to lender if lender pursues this. If lender still wants proof of transfer, write up a bill of sale and show lender bill of sale. Show bill of sale to lender, and then tear it up. If lender wants any more proof, then lender is going to have to pay the $$$ for it.

    Simple and "no issue"?

I guess we all have our own point of view, but ummm... "no".

You go ahead and conform to her will and do what you have no legal obligation to do if you wish. I sure as hell wouldn't.

I just closed on a house and I can tell you, lenders are some of the least intelligent people I've ever dealt with in my life. You are much better off pursuing the gift option.

Simple and no issue, meaning copy of bill of sale, receipt of payment and proof of deposit.

At this point, I don't think we are going to go this route.
